He immigrated to the USA in 1886 with his wife Matilda (aka Tillie & Jennie) (Johnston) and their children John, William and later (in 1890) Sara, settling in Bridgeport, CT. He was a machinist at Wheeler & Wilson (which later became Singer).
He leaves behind wife Matilda, sons John & William, daughters Sara, Emily and Evelyn (aka Loretta Laureine).
