Effie Mary LeJeune Klumpp
TEE-MAMOU - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13 at St. Jules Catholic Church in Tee-Mamou for Effie Mary LeJeune Klumpp, 95, of Tee-Mamou. She died at 5:05 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002 at her residence.
Officiating for the funeral service will be Fr. Mark Derise, pastor of St. Jules Church.
Mrs. Klumpp was a member and past president of the St. Jules Ladies Altar Society. She began selling Avon in the Tee-Mamou area at age 61 and continued for ten years. She had many hobbies including gardening, playing Scrabble and playing baseball with her grandchildren every Easter. She could still hit the ball at age 93.
She was a devoted wife of 60 years and a wonderful mother to seven children who will always remember her for her keen sense of humor and her love of family and friends.
Mrs. Klumpp is survived by four daughters, Lovie K. Henderson and her husband Jonike of New Caney, Texas, Ramona Klumpp of Lafayette, Gertie K. Benoit and her husband Leo of Tee-Mamou, and Sandra K. Simar of Evangeline; two sons, Harold Dean Klumpp and his wife Ruth Ann, and Donavan Klumpp Sr. and his wife Jo-Rita, all of Tee-Mamou; two sisters, Della Bergeron of Tepetate and Ivy Bergeaux of Tee-Mamou; one brother, Bryan "Billy" LeJeune and his wife Evelyn of Jennings; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Caffery (Tene) LeJeune of Eunice; 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roman Klumpp; a daughter, Audrey K. Young; three brothers, Caffery, Kermit and Buford LeJeune; two sisters, Blanche and Wanda Ruth LeJeune, and two infant grandchildren.
Her family would ike to extend a special thanks to her three devoted caregivers, Wanda Atkinson, Ruby Bergeaux and Ruby Deshotel.
Pall bearers will be Cary Mark Benoit, Donavan & Rusty Klumpp, Shane and Ashley Trahan, Jamie Simar and Michael Dean Klumpp.
