She is survived by her husband of 26 years Lee Roy Darrow, son Aaron, daughter Kelly, and daughter Kristy, as well as a future son in law Michael Montantez and grand-daughter on the way Kairi Lynelle Montantez. Her mother Earlene Johnson Reynolds and Father Thomas Glenn Reynolds also keep her alive in their hearts along with her siblings, sister Geri and husband George, brother Russel, sister Shelley and husband Ray, and her youngest sister Sandy, among several nieces and nephews. Julie was born on September 15, 1962 in a hospital in Brownsville Texas where she started on her very first adventure, her move down to Corpus Christi.
As a young lady she fell in love with the sport of kickball. She played under the coaching of her mother and worked her way up to the state championship which they won 1st place in. She continued to play womens kickball up until she had to be forced to stop when she was pregnant with her first baby, which was the end of her career. For someone as hard headed as she was, she always did what ever she set her mind to and her frustration went away when she had her 2 little girls and was able to coach them through out their years of playing. For 15 years she spent her every waking hour thinking about score keeping, line-ups, and statistics and was always set on teaching the true meaning of kickball, the joy of having fun.
At the age of 22, She graduated from Corpus Christi State University with a bachelors in Biology and went on to work at an enviromental test lab known as Test America where she worked her way up to project manager.
Out of all of her adventures, the biggest of all were the day she made that walk down the aisle and married the love of her life, Lee Roy Darrow, and the day she first became a mother. Her kids describe her as the greatest mother in the world and she truly was. She would do anything to take care of them and do whatever she had to do to get them whatever their heart desired. she coached kickball for her girls, and supported her son through all of his mask making and business ideas. She tried so hard to never miss a concert, game, PTA, and Open House. She was everything you would want in a mother and so much more, and as a wife she was completely devoted to taking care of her husband even through the tough times. She had a great sense of humor and always managed to make everyone smile even in sad times. She loved video games, especially playing the football games against her son. There are so many more sides of Julie that we just can't put into words. Everyone that truly knew her would tell you their own stories of Julie and how wonderful she was. She was loved by so many people, and will be missed so much, but will forever be here watching over every single one of us.
