Major League Baseball Player. He played Major League baseball for twelve seasons (1922 to 1933) as an outfielder for the Detroit Tigers, Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox. He spent his first nine seasons with the Tigers, and was one of the top hitters in baseball from 1926 to 1929, topping off in 1927 by hitting .359 for the year with 114 Runs Batted In. He hit for the cycle on September 26, 1926 in a game against the White Sox. He retired in 1933 after half a season with Boston, ending with a career .325 Batting Average. He died from a stroke at the age of 40.
