US Senator, US Congressman. Elected to represent Maryland's 6th District in the United States House of Representatives from 1817-1819 and 1821-1823. United States Senator from Maryland,1806-1813. Also served as a District Judge (1794-1816), Member of Maryland State Executive Council (1805-1806), and Member of Maryland State House of Delegates from 1787 to 1788.
