Daughter of Richard Broadstreet and Sarah Jane Stevenson Broadstreet. She and her sister Mary Frances McLane Joiner were sent to live with their aunt Virginia Alabama Stevenson Hamill (1837-1921) and her husband Henry Hackett Hamill (13 Nov 1821-8 Oct 1887) (they show up in an 1870 census of Talladega, Alabama; Henry is listed as the mayor of the city). Henry and Virginia are buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Talladega, Alabama. It's a mystery to me as to what happened to their parents. They are listed in the 1850 Census of Yalobusha County, Mississippi and the 1860 U.S. Census, Lavaca, Lavaca County, Texas. Then they disappear and the children are found living with relatives. Richard and Sarah were born in Alabama so it makes sense that they had relatives there. I suppose Annie's parents died so she was sent back to Alabama to live with her relatives.
