Civil War Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a First Lieutenant in the US Army in Company G, 7th Maryland Infantry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action at Five Forks, Virginia on April 1, 1865. His citation reads "Capture of battle flag." (bio by: Don Morfe)
