Indian Wars Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Sergeant in the US Army in Company B, 8th US Cavalry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action in the Arizona Territory during August-October 1868. His citation reads "Bravery in scouts and actions against Indians."
