US Congressman. Born in Wilton, New Hampshire, he attended Dartmouth College, studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1876 and commenced to practice law in Peterboro, New Hampshire. He was a member of the New Hampshire State House of Representatives in 1885, served as a Colonel on the military staff of Governor Hale, (1885-87) and served in the New Hampshire State Senate, (1889-91). In 1897, he was elected as a Republican to the Fifty-fifth and Fifty-sixth Congresses and served until his death at age 50 in Peterboro, New Hampshire.
