U.S. Senator, Politician. Served as a United States Senator from Nevada from 1933 until his death in 1954. Also served as a Member of the Nevada State Legislature from 1903 to 1905, Associate Justice and Chief Justice of the Nevada Supreme Court from 1913 to 1917 and 1917 to 1919, respectively. On December 14, 2021, McCarran International Airport (previously named after McCarran) in Las Vegas, Nevada, was renamed Harry Reid International Airport in honor of Nevada Senator Harry Reid, two weeks before his passing.
