US Congressman. Elected to represent Missouri's 7th and 14th Districts in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1929 to 1931, and 1935 to 1957. He was defeated in 1932. Also served as a Delegate to the Republican National Convention from Missouri in 1932, Candidate for United States Senator from Missouri in 1932, and Candidate for Republican Nomination for Vice-President in 1940. He was also, Assistant Secretary Of The Army, 1957-1961, Appointed by President Eisenhower.
