Roland Warren Aaron, 78, of Savannah, GA., formerly of South Williamson, died Sunday, June 12, 2011, at the Candler Hospital, Savannah, GA. He was born September 15, 1932, in Westerly, WV., the son of the late William Bradford Aaron and Ruth Childers Aaron. He was employed by Norfolk & Western Railway as a yardman for 36 years, was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of Enon United Baptist Church, Blackberry City, WV. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Gathel Young Aaron, who died in 2007, one son, Roland Dean Aaron, and one brother, William Aaron. He is survived by one son, Wayne Bradford Aaron (Christina) of Savannah, with whom he made his home, one brother, James P. Aaron of NC., two sisters, Patsy Aaron Rhinehardt and Louise Aaron Ellis, both of NC., five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2011, in the R.E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel, with Elder Jerry McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy.
