Death of John W. Short

Mr. Joseph W. Bell received a telegram this morning from Mrs. John W. Short, Defuniac, Florida, conveying the sad inteligence that her husband, John W. Short, died this morning at 9 o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Short, parents of the deceased, started immediately for Florida. What the arrangements may be about the funeral is not known.

Mr. Short was a sufferer with consumption and had gone south for his health. He died from that dread disease.

The Remains Arrived at One O'clock this Afternoon Accompanied by his Family and Parents.
Daily, April 4

The remains of John Short who died Thursday morning at DeFuniac, Florida, arrived at 1 o'clock this afternoon on the Monon, accompanied by his family and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Short. They were met at the depot by a number of friends and undertaker Goodwin, who took the remains in charge.

The burial took place at the Bunnell Cemetery, the funeral cortege leaving the square at 2 'clock. No services were held.
