Louise was the first of seven children born to Payton and Ola Lee Stone. She was born on the family farm, located along highway 21 going east from Nacogdoches, Texas. The farm was north of the Stone Cemetery, across the highway.

She and two of her sisters were not given a middle name by their parents, in hopes that they would follow the tradition of taking the maiden name as the middle name when they married, which they did.

The Stone family later moved to Highlands, Texas, which is near Baytown. There she met her future husband, Roy Daniel Bryan. They married in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, in late 1941. They have three children together.

Roy & Louise Bryan lived most of their married lives in a house just south of Ruston, Louisiana, on the road to Clay. As the Ruston city limits were expanded, their home became part of Ruston in the 1980's. They are buried together in the New Prospect Church Cemetery.
