William Wallace Powers, Sr. is the son of Ephriam Woodruff and Mary Jane (Landon) Powers. He married Emma Elizabeth McNutt, May 1, 1870 in Eagleville (Austinburg Twp., Ashtabula Co.), OH.

They had at least 7 children: Lindsey, May, Amy, Willie, William, Charles, & George.

Will's and his family were some of the first pioneer settlers in Oceana Co., MI His father owned and operated the Powers' Saw and Grist Mill along the White River in Oceana County, where Will also worked, and later took over after his father's death.

Will voted Republican and was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church In Ferry, MI. He was, also, the Oceana County Treasurer, Clerk, & Supervisor.
Will held the nickname of the "town lawyer".
He is buried beside his wife, Emma.
