US Congressman. A member of the Republican Party, he served in the US House of Representatives from Pennsylvania's 20th congressional district from March 1923 until March 1925. In 1890 he enter local politics, eventually becoming the Cambria County Commissioner (1893) and the Cambria County Sheriff (1897). He was elected to the Pennsylvania State Senate, serving from 1909 until 1913, with the last two years aa its President pro tempore. After serving for one term in the US Congress, he was defeated for a second nomination in the 1924 Republican primary by Anderson Walters. He died four years later at the age of 72.
