Husband of Florence Choate Leach. Son of Samuel Edward and Margaret Jane Hoyt Axson. Brother of Stockton Axson and Ellen Louise Axson Wilson (Mrs. Woodrow Wilson). Graduated from Princeton University in 1897. Was superintendent of the Franklin gold mines. Drowned with wife and child when their runaway horse plunged into the Etowah river.
