My special, uncle.
Brother to my Mom, Shirley Baker.

s/o Lloyd Milton "Mutt" Eddie &
Clara Bell Scott.

h/o LaTrishia "Pat" Mae Miller
Married 11-27-1964
Giles co.,Tn.

Father of:
Shirley Mae (Nichols),
Sandy Kaye (Mayer) &
Sherrie Lynn (Fox) Eddie.

Uncle Loyd, was a fun loving guy, with a great sence of humor. I miss his harmless, pranks, and his funny laugh, even the way he called me "Trishie".

In 1964, I was 10 yr. old, living with my grandparents in Tn. Uncle Loyd was still a single man, at that time. But, I remember, one night he came in, Grandma was in her rocking chair, and Uncle Loyd asked Grandma for her blessing to marry Aunt Pat. Grandma said "No". Uncle Loyd began to cry, I will never forget this till the day I die. He got down on his kness, crying "Please, Mama!" Grandma, being a good Christan woman, thought she was doing the right thing, after all, Aunt Pat was a single Mom, with a newborn daughter, and in 1964, that was quite taboo! Uncle Loyd cried and cried, my little 10 yr. old heart, just broke for him! Well, Uncle Loyd & Aunt Pat, eloped. Grandma did made peace with it. Uncle Loyd adopted Shirley, and they had 2 daughters together.

That "rocking chair" was passed down to my Mom (Uncle Loyd's sister)- and now, I have it.
