He attended New Bedford High School and was a graduate of Tabor Academy in Marion and Bryant College in Smithfield, R.I. A World War II U.S. Army veteran, he was an accountant for the Foxboro Company in Foxboro for 35 years. Dana was a member of the West Bridgewater Youth Athletic Association. He enjoyed music and sports but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his son, Dana S. Ashworth Jr. of Monument Beach; and his daughter, Nancy Ashworth Durfee of Pocasset; and two granddaughters, Nicole and Bethany Ashworth.
Visiting hours will be in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 584 West Falmouth Hwy., Rte. 28A, West Falmouth. A funeral home service will be in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne
