Willie "Alfred" Acors, 68, of Bowling Green passed away on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at his residence.

Mr. Acors retired from the Rappahannock Electric Co-op in 1990 after serving over 25 years as a serviceman. Mr. Acors was a member of Ladysmith Baptist Church and attended Hopewell United Methodist Church. He was also a former member of the Ruritan Club and the Fredericksburg Moose Lodge.

Mr. Acors is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nateline Stanley Acors; his daughter and her husband, Pamela and Gary James of Ladysmith; his son and his wife, Alfred and Susie Acors of Ladysmith; and his son Micheal Acors of Bowling Green; three brothers, Reginald Acors of Ladysmith, Garland Acors of Hanover and Irvin Acors of Hampton; a sister, Margaret Shelton of New Jersey; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Feb. 4, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, where a service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5, with the Rev. Howard Satterwhite and Dr. Randolph M. Newsome Jr. officiating.

Pallbearers for Mr. Acors will be Homer Johnson, Sterling Schoonover, Eddie Bryant, George Tignor, Leslie Scott and Tom Parke.
