US Congressman. He graduated from Transylvania College, studied law, was admitted to the bar, proceeded to practice law and was a member of the Kentucky State House of Representatives, (1824-25). In 1829, he was elected as a Jacksonian to the Twenty-first Congress, serving until 1831. After his term he moved to Vicksburg, Mississippi, resumed the practice of law and was postmaster of Vicksburg, (1841-44).
