He was a United States Air Force WWII Veteran, he held a life long teaching career as a Industrial Arts Teacher with the Somerset Independent School System, cherished his relationship with his former students and a member of the First united Methodist Church.
He is survived by one daughter; Trudy (and Terry) Randall, Birmingham, Alabama; one sister; Violet Claycomb, Somerset, Kentucky: 2 grandchildren; Jerrod and Jessica Randall: two nephews; Greg Calhoun, Jamestown, Kentucky and Paul Claycomb, Chicago, Illinois: two nieces; Kibby Calhoun, New Castle, Indiana and Janet Hutson, Peotone, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife; Alma Maxine Correll: 2nd wife; Edna Holt Calhoun: one son; Scotty Calhoun: one daughter; Tonda Calhoun: one brother; William Calhoun.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 8th, 2004 at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother Doug Wilcoxson and Brother Murrell Crockett officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Garden, Somerset, Kentucky. Visitation will be after 6:00 p.m., Sunday, March 7th, 2004 at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. Military honors will be given by American legion Post # 38 Honor Guard.
