Chester was the son of Charles Aaron Abbott and Idella Cooley of Stapleton,Logan County, Nebraska. He married Dorothy Lucille Adams January 1,1941. He was raised and educated in Boulder,Colorado, and worked in Colorado and Texas during the war in Defense related jobs. After the war he moved with his family to Yakima in 1947 and worked for Shields and founded Abbott's printing company at a location on South Seventh Avenue. He later built his own building and moved to the present location of Abbott's Printing on South 3rd Avenue. He sold the business to Dale Kinder in 1983 and retired to a life of travel and golf. He was a lifetime member of the ELKS LODGE. He is survived by his wife of fifty three years, Dorothy Lucille Adams of Boulder,Colorado, two daughters,Martha Marie Klotz of Eugene,Oregon and Judith Lee Serur and husband General John Serur of San Marcos,Texas.
