Magna Grogan's obit:
Mrs. Magna Grogan, 78, passed away at Wesley Hospital Wednesday, March 20. She had been in failing health for a long time and a resident of the hospital for approximately a year, the immediate cause of death being a stroke.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Olaf Carlford officiating. Interment was made in Calvary Cemetery.

Magna Melby was born in Feiring, Norway, July 2, 1885, and came to this country in 1905. She filed and proved up on a homestead in McKenzie County, N.D. when there were no bridges across the Missouri River. Then entered Concordia College at Moorhead, MN and then to nurses training in Kenmare, N.D. where she met and eventually married Dr. John S. Grogan. She became superintendent at the Kenmare Hospital. They lived in Flaxton, N.D., for 10 years before coming to Wadena to join the Wadena Clinic. He died in 1952 but Mrs. Grogan continued to make her home in Wadena after her children married and moved to more distant points.

She is survived by her three children and nine grandchildren. John M. Grogan, the eldest, Mrs. Robert Welier (Joan), Long Valley, N.J. and a local high school graduate. Helen is Mrs. Robert Hight of Erie, PA., and Dr. John Grogan is now a radiologist located in Denver and a local graduate.

Mrs. Grogan was practically blind for the past year.
