The funeral of the late Charles M. Hughes, was held at the home on North Anderson street, this afternoon and interment followed in the Elwood cemetery.
Elwood, Ind. December 29, Charles Hughes, age eighty, a veteran of the civil war, is dead here following a fall in which he suffered a fracture of the hip. The accident occurred last June and he had been helpless nearly all the time since. He was a native of Ohio, serving through the civil war in the One-hundred-and-seventy-fifth Ohio Infantry and coming to Elwood forty years ago.
