Mrs. Pickering was the widow of Rev. Ernest W. Pickering who died in 1943 [sic]. She was born in Pemberton, N.J. At an early age she moved to Baltimore, Md., where she resided until 1941 when she moved to Springfield.
She was a member of the Laurel Methodist church, King's Daughters, the Woman's club and other church societies.
She is survived by one son, Benjamin P. Thomas, of city, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be tomorrow at the Thomas C. Smith Sons funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Ridge cemetery.
