Dr. F. X. Adams, 77, Claimed by Death
Illness Proves Fatal to Physician Who Practiced Here 45 years

Dr. F. X. Adams, 77, one of the oldest practicing physicians in the city, died Wednesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clyde C. Orr, 686 Coburn St. His death followed an illness of several months.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's church and burial will be in Kent.
Practiced 45 Years
Dr. Adams was a graduate of the Eclectic Medical college of Cincinnati of the class of 1885. He had practiced medicine in Akron for 45 years and maintained his office at 728 S. Main St., until his last illness.
He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Orr and Mrs. Mark Shank, wife of Attorney Mark Shank; five brothers, Edward J., Augustus R., Harry J., Raymond J. and Silas P. Adams and two sisters, Mrs. Peter Mehrle and Mrs. Charles Hurm. He was a member of the Holy Name society of St. Mary's church.
