Major League Baseball Player. Born in in Watson, Michigan, he was a right-handed pitcher making his debut for the Baltimore Orioles on May 19, 1898. For ten seasons he also played as an outfielder as well as a pitcher with the Baltimore Orioles (1898- 99), Brooklyn Superb (1900-02), Detroit Tigers (1903-05), Washington Senators in 1906 and New York Highlanders in 1907. He ended his career with a record of 129 wins, 118 losses, 211 complete games, 19 shutouts, 7 saves, 731 strikeouts and a 3.18 earned run average. As a batter he had 235 hits, 118 runs scored, 4 home runs, 95 runs batted in and a .240 batting average. He died at age 60 in Allegan, Michigan.
