husband of: Ruth Frances Jacobs married in Jefferson County Iowa on 18 June 1918

Retired, Jefferson County farmer died: at 7:15 p.m. Monday, at the Fairfield Convalescent Home. Funeral to be Thursday. He had been in failing health for some time and seriously ill the past month. Last rites have been set for Thursday at 1:30pm at the Raymond Funeral Home with Wilson Hyde officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Carl C. Diehl, 76 was born Sept 3, 1894, at Hill City, Kansas, the son of Daniel and Nellie Cassel Diehl. He was reared and educated in Kansas.

His marriage to Ruth Jacobs took place June 18, 1918, at Lockridge. Diehl farmed in the Richwoods and Brookville communities for a number of years before his retirement. He was a veteran of World War I. The family home is located at 109 Iowa Avenue.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Arthur Worley, Fairfield, Iowa; three sons, Richard of Fairfield; Darrell of Hollywood, Florida and Alan of Sedalia, MO; 15 grandchildren, one great grandchild and a brother Charles of Lakeland Florida.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister and his parents.
