US Congressman. Elected tor represent Michigan's 11th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1953 to 1965. He was defeated in 1947, and 1964, as Republican. Also served as a Member of the Michigan State House of Representatives from Chippewa County from 1937 to 1952, and Speaker of the Michigan State House of Representatives from 1947 to 1952.
