Obituary published 18 February 2000:

Pauline Acklen L. Grizzard died Wednesday, Feb. 16. Mrs. Grizzard was born in Davidson County, graduated from West End High School and attended Vanderbilt University. She was the great-granddaughter of Joseph A.S. and Adelicia Hayes Acklen who built Belmont Mansion. She married Ewing Ambrose Grizzard Jr. in 1940. Mrs. Grizzard showed horses for 21 years. She was a member of Historic Franklin Presbyterian Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, National Society Daughters of Colonial Dames, National Society Daughters of Barons of Runnemede, Belmont Mansion Association, Ladies Hermitage Association and the Centennial Club.

Mrs. Grizzard was preceded in death by her husband, Ewing Ambrose Grizzard Jr.; and a son, Robert Allen Grizzard.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Grizzard and her W.N. Tiffany Jr. of Warrenton, Va.; and two grandchildren, W. Newton Tiffany V and L. Landis Tiffany, both of Richmond, Va.

Graveside services will be held Friday, Feb. 18, at 2 p.m., at Mount Olivet Cemetery with the Revs. Sara Hughes and Will Berger officiating.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of Tennessee, Belmont Mansion Association or the United Cerebral Palsy of Middle Tennessee.

Mount Olivet Funeral Home in Nashville is in charge of arrangements.
