Robert G. Donley
Former teacher worked for federal government
Robert G. Donley, 90, of 5600 Boulder Highway, Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Dilliner R. D., died at 6:30 a.m. Monday, March 23, 1998, in Desert Springs Hospital, Las Vegas.
He was born October 8, 1907, in Wadestown, a son of Luther Morris and Lola Grace Lough Donley.
Mr. Donley was a 1928 graduate of Morgantown High School, received his bachelor of science degree from West Virginia University in 1932, and earned his teaching degree from Waynesburg College. He then taught at the Bobtown School for a brief time.
He worked for the federal government as a storekeeper and gauger, retiring in 1963, after 30 years of service.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U. S. Army.
Mr. Donley was a member of Bald Hill Methodist Church, Dunkard Township Grange, Warrier Trail Association, I. O. O. F. Odd Fellows Lodge and the Farm Bureau, as well as many other organizations.
Surviving are two brothers, Daniel G. Donley of Oakland, Md., and James Warren of Westover, W. Va.; two sisters, Deloris June Friday of Mentor, Ohio, and Catherine "Kay" VanDruff of Dilliner, R. D. 1; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are his wife, Alverna Donley; two brothers, Luther Morris and Romeo Garland Donley; and three sisters, Stella John Walters, Rosalie Hyde and Madeline "Betty Lou" Tustin.
