US Congressman. He was elected to represent two separate Massachusetts Congressional Districts in the United States House of Representatives, serving a total of ten years from 1829 to 1839. He first represented the 7th District as an Anti-Jacksonian from 1829 to 1833, then the 6th District as a Whig from 1833 to 1839.
