U.S. Congressman. Moving to Michigan in 1904, he became successful in the mail-order clothing and manufacturing business, in Grand Rapids. He became president of the Canada Mills Company, of New York and Michigan and was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-third Congress, serving (1913-15). Not a candidate for re-nomination, he resumed the mail-order business and supervised a correspondence school’s courses for sales people until his death.
