Our beloved father, Fred J. Svigel, passed away June 28, 2011 in Memphis, where he had lived for the last 8 1/2 years under the loving care of his daughter and son-in-law. He was 88. A native of Chisholm, MN and the son of an iron ore miner, he became a WWII bomber pilot, and an executive with Western Electric, retiring with 40 years service. His proudest accomplishment was in being the father of three daughters who he lavished with love, and two wonderful grandchildren. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Dolores J. Svigel. In his 37 years living in Shreveport he was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church and was known as a friend to all who was always willing to donate his considerable mechanical and carpentry skills. He is survived by his three daughters extraordinary son-in-law, Ronald; one brother and sister-in-law of Chisholm, MN; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Dolores J.
