French Army Officer. He received notoriety as a highly decorated officer of the French and Indian War and as a Knight of the Royal and Military Order of Saint-Louis.

Born on June 30, 1718 in the region of Maine in France. He began as second lieutenant in the Regiment of Lépé on January 1, 1734. On July 28, 1735, he was incorporated in the Queen's Regiment, and on October 11, 1735, he received his commission of lieutenant. He was captain of riflemen on August 28, 1743 and he was promoted to the rank of captain of grenadiers in the Queen's Regiment on March 16, 1757.

He was wounded in the right leg at the Battle of Dettingen in 1743, at the time of the War of Succession of Austria from 1740 to 1748. He was wounded a second time at the Battle of Plaisance in Italy, in 1746, of a shot which broke his arm. He received the Cross of Saint-Louis on November 11, 1747.

He died of the wounds he had received a few days earlier at the time of the Battle of Sainte-Foy or the Battle of Quebec, which was fought on April 28, 1760 against the British army. He is buried in the cemetery of the General Hospital of Quebec, which became the "Cemetery of the Heroes", and in 2001 became the Memorial of the Seven Years War.
