Emerson Row, 92, Bedford, died at 10:18 p.m. on Thursday at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital.

Born July 12, 1918, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Odos and Grace (Akin) Row. He married Alberta Flinn on Aug. 17, 1940, and she survives.

He was retired from Clark & Rile Buick Agency in Bedford in 1962 then built homes until his retirement in 1980. He was a handyman for several years and was a charter member of the Southland Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and elder. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during WW II serving with the Pacific Fleet.

Survivors include his wife, Alberta Mae of Bedford; three sons, Robert Eugene Row of Bedford, Richard Donald Row of Newville, Pa., Timothy Allen Row of Huntsville, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three siblings, Eunice Hawkins, William Row, Dorothy Aardapple.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Southland Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens where military rites will be accorded at the graveside.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 1 p.m. until the service on Sunday at the church.
