Elizabeth was the fifth of six children born to Mathew Vogelsang and Mary Von Bokern. On 04 May 1919 she married August "Gus" Herberman in Rockport, Spencer, Indiana. The couple relocated to Louisville, KY, and they had three children: Thelma, Margaret, and LaVerne. She was a member of Queen's Daughters. Elizabeth died at the age of 79.
