Ida Luella Nidey, daughter of Timothy and Lucindia (Thompson) Nidey, was born in Indiana Feb. 10, 1867 and as a girl of three years, came with her parents to Davis County. Here she enjoyed the years of childhood, attaining young womanhood and was united in marriage with Miles Wilkinson, in Feb. 1888. Two sons were born to this union, Everett and Floyd. Mrs. Wilkinson lost her companion in Dec. 1915 and several years later was united in marriage with Mr. Henry Current, who also preceded her in death.
The past few years of Mrs. Current's life have been spent in nursing homes of Davis and Wapello Counties. She enjoyed a fair degree of health until some two years ago, when falling she broke a hip which never healed and since has been in poor health and confined to bed. In Dec. 1951 Mrs. Current came to the Cameron nursing home in Bloomfield and resided there until the time of her departure from this life which came June 16, 1952.
All but three of her 85 years, three months and 24 days were spent in Davis County. Mrs. Current was a member of the Floris Christian Church. Her presence will be missed by the members of her family which are the two sons and their families, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Wilkinson of Burlington and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wilkinson of Bloomfield and the two step children, Mrs. Vivian Reichwein of Flordia and Emery Current of Lima, Ohio. Other members of her immediate family include 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Her parents and one sister, Mrs. Cora Pottorff and one brother, John Nidey preceded her in death. Her sister, Mrs. Amy Garner resides in the Cameron Nursing home awaits the call to join her.
Funeral services were conducted June 18th at the Floris Christian Church with burial at the Pierce Cemetery.
