Janie Macias Bernal, 87, died Saturday August 20 at St. Joseph Regional Health Care.
Funeral service will be on Tuesday August 23 at 10:30 a.m. at Primera Iglesia Bautista in Bryan. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday August 22 from 6-9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
Janie was born in Cameron and resided in Bryan for over 60 years. She was a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista. A devoted Christian Janie was a loving, kind and giving mother and grandmother. Her unconditional love will be truly missed.
Janie is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Mendez Bernal, parents, Nieves and Marcelina Macias, brothers, Pablo Macias and Armando Macias, sisters, Ausencia Bustillos, Carlota Macias, Aurora Macias, Guadalupe Macias and Amalia Rhodes.
She is survived by her eight children and their spouses, Fred and Gloria Bernal of Ft. Worth, Robert and Stacy Bernal of San Antonio, Delia Hernandez of Bryan, Daniel and Blanche Bernal of Crowley, Olga and Robert Castillo of Rockdale, Sylvia Garcia of Bryan, Reuben and Adriana Bernal of Bryan, and Arthur and Brenda Bernal of Bryan; 29 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
