JOSEPHINE JENSEN GARDNER was born June 11, 1921, in Groveland, Idaho, to Joseph Franklin and Bertha Yancey Jensen. She grew up in Groveland and attended school in Groveland and Blackfoot.

She married Earl Gardner on June 7, 1939, in the Salt Lake City, Utah, LDS Temple. They had 12 children--nine daughters and three sons.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a skilled homemaker and a wonderful mother.

Children include: Earline Lish, Downey, Idaho; Janette (Wes) Andrews, Salt Lake City, Utah; Lucille (LeGrande) Andreason, Pocatello, Idaho; Carla (Chester) Wahlen, Aberdeen, Idaho; Julie (Richard) Drollinger, Firth, Idaho; Linda Winona Catmull, Salt Lake City, Utah; Ida May (Larry) Nielson, West Valley, Utah; Michael (Alisha) Gardner,Reno, Nevada; Kristy (Bob) Combs, Nauvoo, Illinois; Marshall (Kathy) Gardner, St. Anthony, Idaho; and Lorin (Jolene) Gardner, Caldwell, Idaho.

She passed away on December 18, 2009, in American Falls, Idaho. At the time of her death, besides her husband and children, she was survived by 65 grandchildren, 142 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, and 1 brother. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, 1 granddaughter, and 2 great-granddaughters.
