Russell Ison of West Liberty, Ky., passed away Monday, August 29, 2011, at the West Liberty Nursing and Rehab Center, West Liberty, Ky., at the age of 82 years, 5 months, and 7 days.
He was born on Friday, March 22, 1929, in Crockett, Ky., a son of the late Oscar and Cora Fannin Ison.
Russell was a retired farmer. He was a Christian and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Cecil Ison, Denver Ison, Bill Ison, and Emerson Ison.
Survivors include one brother, Autie and Bertha Ison of Columbus, OH., one sister, Alta Blevins of West Liberty, Ky., sisters-in-law, Genett Ison and Betty Ison; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at the Potter Funeral Home, with Rev. Ira Smith officiating. Burial to follow in the Ison Family Cemetery, Crockett, Ky.
Visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at the funeral home.
