He was the son of Andrew Jackson and Nancy Cook Woods who both were born in early Virginia. He first married Rutha Emmaline(Emma) Rice. They had only one son-George K. Woods. She died at age 30 and he then married Mary Sexton Bentley in 1899.They moved to Greenup Co. Ky. from Lawrence Co. in 1917 at age 60 years. He was the first Woods to be buried in this neighborhood cemetery, owned then by the Sullivan family.Died from pneumonia--homemade casket.
