U.S. Congressman. He graduated from Middlebury College Vermont, in 1808, studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1812 and commenced practice law in West Bloomfield, New York. He was a member of the New York State Assembly, (1829, 1830). In 1831, he was elected as an Anti-Masonic candidate to the Twenty-second and Twenty-third Congresses, serving until 1835. After his term, he resumed the practice of law until his death at age 68.
