He was born on December 23, 1926 in Valley View to Alfred A. and Gertrude Louise (Bryandt) Belz. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Gainesville and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from May 1953 to June 1955. On August 1, 1983, he married Patricia Platt. Roy was a farmer and cut hay for other farmers all over the Cooke and Denton County regions.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2012 at the Church of Christ in Sanger with Neil Trice officiating the services.
Survivors include his wife, Pat of Valley View; daughters, Debbie Koepp of Euless and Barbara Anker of Pittsburgh, PA; two sons, Roy Lee Belz, Jr. of Valley View and Robert Massimino of Pittsburgh, PA; sister, Geneva Lane of Valley View and sister-in-law, Jo Ann Belz; two grandchildren, Steven and David Grant and three great-grandchildren; one niece, Donna Trice and one nephew, Mark Belz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Vicki Mason and brother, Frank Belz.
