Aulta Belle Alumbaugh at age 70 went to rest in peace in Heaven on the morning of September 3, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on January 19, 1941 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Elizabeth "Betty" Major. She was not only "Nana" to her eight precious grandchildren, but also to many other children whom she cared for in her home daycare for twenty-five years. Aulta and her husband Chuck were married for forty-six years, and they always welcomed friends and family into their home. They loved having everyone over for large holiday meals, games, and family time. Aulta always had a way of bringing a smile to everyone's face; she loved life and will be missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Major, husband Charles Alumbaugh, and brother Thomas Major.
She is survived by her four children: Sandra Riddle, Cheryl Boyd, Douglas Alumbaugh, and Elizabeth Schlueter; eight grandchildren, Ronald Riddle, Charles Riddle, Heather Boyd, Jeffrey Riddle, Ryan Schlueter, Tanner Schlueter, Douglas Alumbaugh Jr. and Chaz Schlueter. She is also survived by her sisters in law, Sandy Heideman, Patty Jackson, and Beverly Major.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Monday September 5th, 2011 with family to receive friends at 6:00 pm, at Seaside Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be celebrated on Tuesday September 6th, 2011 at 11:00am with interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
