Edna Marie Winkler, 90, of Yale passed away Sunday, June 19, 2011, at St Joseph Mercy Hospital in Port Huron. She was born April 30, 1921, in Harbor Beach, the daughter of the late Robert and Henrietta (Messing) Miller.

Her marriage of 51 years to Donald W Winkler was October 19, 1946, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Yale. Donald Passed away December 1, 1997.

Edna was a 1939 graduate of St Augustine High School in Richmond, and earned her Associates Degree in general education from St Clair County Community College while in her 60's.

She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Yale, and a member of the Altar Society and the St Mary's Guild.

Edna and Donald were one of the original volunteers at the Yale We Care Resale and she had worked there until April. She enjoyed canning vegetables from her family garden, bingo, reading, riding her exercise bike and keeping a daily journal.

Her son Paul (2009), grandson Tony A Davis, Jr (1996) and nine siblings: Don, Eleanor Jacobson, Mary O'Neil, Lucy Young, Irene Oxnam, George, Raymond, Edward and Robert, preceded her death.

Her family honored the memory of Edna and shared memories on Tuesday, June 21 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors in Yale, with a Rosary devotion at 6:00 p.m.

Rite of Christian Burial was at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Yale, with 11:00 a.m. visiting. Father Joe Gagnon, visiting, officiated.

Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Yale.
