Ed Wise, 77, of Clever, died at 9:35 p.m. Thursday in Springfield General Osteopathic Hospital following a lingering illness. A retired farmer, Mr. Wise was a lifelong resident of Christian County and was a member of the Clever Christian Church. Surviving are his wife, Myrtle; three sons, Howard, of Chicago, Ill., Hurt, of Andover, Kan., and Lloyd, of Inglewood, Calif.; one daughter, Miss Edna Wise, Los Angeles, Calif.; 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today in the First Christian here (Clever) with the Rev. C. B. Orahood officiating. Burial will be in Wise Hill Cemetery under direction of Cantrell of Clever.
