US Congressman. Served in the Virginia State Senate from 1784-1788. He was a United States Representive for Virginia from 1789-1792. United States Senator For Kentucky from 1792-1805, and he was cousin to John Breckinridge, James Breckinridge, and Francis Preston. He was the brother of James Brown and Grandfather of Benjamin Gratz Brown.
