Edward M. Loeser Jr.
Final services for Edward M. Loeser Jr., a sailor killed June 14, 1945, while serving in Luchow, China, will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Oak Woods cemetery chapel. He was a pupil at Hyde Park High school prior to his entry into service. He was awarded the distinquished flying cross. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward M. Loeser Sr., and a sister, Miriam.

Loeser's Individual Deceased Personnel File (IDPF) from the Army Human Resources Command (this office manages these records for all branches of the service). Loeser's file showed his birth date as 25 November 1923 and actual date of death as 17 June 1945.

Transit records show that Loeser's remains were repatriated to the States via Hawaii in 1947 and were delivered to Boydston Brothers Funeral Home, 4227 So. Cottage Grove Ave., Chicago on 27 Oct 1947 with burial on 28 Oct 1947.

Oak Woods Cemetery provided the following:

"I am responding to your request on: Edward Milton Loeser Jr.

His burial date was Oct. 28, 1947.
